Fantsuam Foundation’s vision is to be the most effective model of rural development in West Africa. Information and communications technology is a key element of this mission and Fantsuam’s internet service provider, ZittNet aim is to build sustainable community owned networks for rural development in Nigeria.
Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Professional Education
Fantsuam Healthcare Centre provides a range of services that have evolved in response to community needs:
I. A working healthcare facility onsite, specializing in maternal care and offering services to staff and the local community
2. Health Promotion: Promotes awareness and behavioral change on the issues and concerns related to sexual & reproductive and environmental health, and non communicable diseases: Type 2 diabetes and hypertension
The Rural Development Innovation Incubator, RDII, at Fantsuam Foundation supports various Micro and Small Entreprise innovations aimed at fast tracking rural development. The RDII provides infratsructural support, utilities, mentoring and funding for innovative ideas. The Youth-Led Services and Programs, Renewable Energy for Climate Change mitigation, Compressed Earth Bricks, Business centres, Rural connectivity, Computer Based Testing Centre have all benefitted from the RDII support.

The Fantsuam Foundation Social Protection service was created in response to identified needs in our host communities in Kafanchan. It became apparent that two groups of vulnerable persons in the host communities were more often accused and/or attacked with accusations of witchcraft. The trauma and distress caused for such individuals, the disregard of their basic human rights and disrespect for their humanity were issues that led us to create a social protection unit. The two groups that were more often attacked, were the elderly women and children.

GAIYA (translation: Gift of Labour) is a national volunteering program that arose as a response to the needs of Nigeria’s grass root communities in Kafanchan to fight poverty, overcome disadvantage and enhance sustainable livelihoods for the excluded populace.This dream was to be achieved through traditional local volunteer practices that have existed since time immemorial. Fantsuam Foundation together with other initiators have formalized and institutionalized this age-old community development volunteering system.
Youths constitute over 60% of Nigeria’s population of 167 Million and their role in the post-election crisis of April 2011 in Kafanchan underscored their potentials as responsible social actors who must be included in any sustainable development program. They are critical change agents for the promotion of peace as a basis for sustainable development. This is the main recognition for a stand-alone, independent Youth Services
Making Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and Community Owned Wireless Networks work for the Rural Poor is the main aim of ZittNet, a department of Fantsuam Foundation. It is tailored to develop its products and services alongside Fantsuam’s existing programmes in health, education and microfinance.The long term vision is to be the leading provider of internet and wireless application services in Southern Kaduna, serve 100,000 rural community dwellers through products and services and create 1,000 ICT related jobs in 5 years.
